# Aspas Labs API

> Use Goldenfish to turn context into structured decisions through a small, stable HTTP API.

Goldenfish is the structured-decision API from Aspas Labs. Send context, an instruction, and a set of valid outcomes. The API returns one selected choice, a confidence score, and probabilities keyed by the original choices.

The contract is deliberately small: the model is selected in the request body, decisions use one endpoint, and the response shape stays predictable as the model catalog grows.

<Info>
  Aspas Labs does not have a dashboard or self-service web console yet. Use the HTTP API directly. The free decision and model surface does not require an API key; catalog management is a separate protected surface and requires a bearer key.

## What the API supports

| Capability | What it means |
| - | - |
| Structured decisions | Classify input against exactly one inline choice list or catalog. |
| Confidence and probabilities | Inspect the selected choice and the model's probability for each outcome. |
| Model discovery | List models, inspect one model, and read its public limits and status. |
| Reusable catalogs | Store a named choice set for repeated decision requests. |
| Health checks | Check process liveness and inference readiness without using an account surface. |

## Base URL and versioning

The production base URL is:

```text theme={null}
https://api.aspaslabs.com
```

Versioned product endpoints use the `/v1` prefix. Health endpoints are intentionally unversioned:

```text theme={null}
POST /v1/decisions
GET  /v1/models
GET  /v1/models/{model}
POST /v1/catalogs
GET  /v1/catalogs/{id}
DELETE /v1/catalogs/{id}
GET  /health/live
GET  /health/ready
```

## A few terms

* **Decision** — the result of evaluating one input and instruction against a choice set.
* **Choice** — one valid output string, such as `reset_password` or `billing`.
* **Catalog** — a reusable, named choice set stored by the API.
* **Model** — the Goldenfish model selected in the request body.
* **Confidence** — the probability assigned to the selected choice.
